Swift rise for current affairs editor
KEN O'Shea was appointed to the position of editor of current affairs, RTE Television, in October 2008.
The 40-year-old Cork native has worked across the media industry, not only in broadcast but also in print, where he cut his teeth at the 'Sunday Tribune', 'Irish Daily Star', 'Sunday World' and a variety of magazines.
Educated at Sullivan's Quay National School and later at Deerpark CBS in Cork, Mr O'Shea joined the state broadcaster's current affairs section in 1997. As his star rose, he successfully occupied positions as a producer and executive producer, mainly on the flagship 'Prime Time' programme.

Mr O'Shea appeared at a recent High Court sitting in relation to the libel action undertaken by Fr Kevin Reynolds.
