A woman who lost her entire family in a horrific crash is to be honoured by a top European police association.

Elber Twomey (39) will be the keynote speaker at the TISPOL European Road Safety Conference in Manchester.

Several UK police forces have already amended their emergency response training regimes in light of the 2012 tragedy in which Elber's family was killed by a suicidal driver.

"I don't want anyone to go through the nightmare that I have endured over the past three years," the Cork woman said.

Elber lost her son Oisin (16 months) and unborn baby girl Elber Marie, while her husband, Con (38), died 10 months later from his injuries.
