Surgeon is suspended in safety probe

A surgeon in Our Lady's Hospital in Navan, Co Meath, has been placed on administrative leave, pending an internal examination of the doctor's work.
The Health Service Executive confirmed that the doctor was suspended following concerns about patient care. The spokesperson refused to say if patients in the doctor's care had been contacted .
"The HSE cannot comment further on this matter at this time as it is now the subject of an internal investigation," she said.
