Supermarket staff robbed at knifepoint by masked man

A 35-year-old man has been arrested following a robbery of a Wexford supermarket yesterday afternoon.
Wearing a red balaclava over his face, the man entered the supermarket on Coach Rd, Gorey approximately 3.40pm.
He threatened staff with a knife and left the supermarket with a sum of money.
Gardai arrived on the scene and arrested the man close by, recovering the stolen cash.
The man was taken to Gorey garda station where he was detained under the provisions of section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 as amended.
He was subsequently charged and brought before a Special sitting of Gorey District Court at 9.30pm last night.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Wexford District Court at 10.30am on Monday May 19.
