A university student was killed in a car crash yesterday on his way home from a night shift at work.
Richard Browne (19), from Balliniska, Feohanagh, Co Limerick, was travelling alone. No other vehicle was involved in the accident on the N21 near Rathkeale at about 8.20am.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to the Mid-Western Regional Hospital in Limerick for a post-mortem examination.
The UCD student was returning home from the Dunraven Arms Hotel in Adare, where he worked as a barman.
He finished at 8am and was just eight miles from his house at the time of the collision.
Mr Browne was a second-year economics student in UCD. He split his time between Dublin and his native Limerick.
His parents Richard and Mary were yesterday said to be devastated.
