Storm-lashed nation braced for gales on St Valentine's Day

Householders and road users are being urged to exercise extreme caution, although Met Eireann predicted that the new gale will not match the violent winds of Storm Darwin earlier this week.
The newest gales come as thousands of homes face the prospect of being left without electricity until after the weekend as crews battle to restore power.
Bank and post office customers have also been left without services as power shortages and bad road conditions forced the closure of over 20 branches.
