Still missing: Ten unsolved cases

A designated Missing Persons Day will take place on the first Wednesday of every December, Justice Minister Alan Shatter announced yesterday.

Here we profile ten unsolved missing person cases.

Esra Uyrun, missing since February 23, 2011

Esra went missing from her home in the Ronanstown area of Dublin on at 7am.

Esra, aged 38 at the time, said she was going to the shops nearby.

Her car was found in the Bray Head car park.

Esra's sister Berna Fidan, who lives in London, has never given up hope of finding her and regularly travels to Ireland to seek help from the public.

When Berna put up a poster in a Neilstown chip shop in 2012, she was followed from the shop by the owner who handed her a set of car keys that had a photograph of Esra and her son Emin.

There has been no explanation as to how the keys arrived at the takeaway months after Esra disappeared.
