State asked to extradite former Kyrgyz minister

Kyrgyzstan officials are seeking the extradition of the country's former energy minister, who is believed to be in Dublin
Saparbek Balkibekov, the ex-head of energy ministry and former head of the Elektricheskie Stancii Company is understood be in Dublin since January 26.
Mr Balkibekov and other high-ranking officials fled the country in April when large opposition protests led to the takeover of government offices. It is understood an Interpol arrest warrant has been issued for Mr Balkybekov.
