Stars RISE up at Vicar Street

SINGER Frances Black brought along a stellar line-up to raise money for her addiction charity last night.

Her daughter, Aoife Scott, along with her niece Roisin O -- a daughter of singer Mary Black -- provided back-up for the RISE Foundation benefit concert in Vicar Street, Dublin.

Also in action were RTE's Aonghus McAnally, who acted as MC, singers Paddy Casey, Brian Kennedy, US folk singer John Prine and Altan.

Ms Black, who has admitted to being an alcoholic, set up the charity to support families of addicts. She is hoping to raise more than €1.5m to build a dedicated addiction awareness and education centre on Rathlin Island, Co Antrim.
