Spindoctor of the Year:
And the nominees are..
Richard Moore: Too modest to take the credit for the fantastic Dermot Ahern soundbite: 'The bottom line is this: a collar will protect no criminal'. Played defence and attack for his minister at the correct times.
Ciaran Conlon: Fine Gael's chief press officer had a tricky time managing the party policy of Enda Kenny's frontbench and the party policy of George Lee.
Alan Ahearne: Went from being the backroom economics adviser to Finance Minister Brian Lenihan to the frontline of attack on NAMA as he proceeded to wipe the floor with the 50-odd academics who signed a misguided letter attacking the Government's plan.
And the winner is: Richard Moore for proving it is actually a good idea to have a positive media strategy. Certain colleagues in Government should take note.
