So, what's the Point?

We've all been going to 'the O2' for years. Starting this summer, concerts could be held at 'the 3' – or 'the Three'. Under the terms of the O2 / 3 Ireland deal, the names of venues and sports jerseys are set to change.

While O2 owner Telefonica retains ownership of the O2 brand, 3 is permitted to use it for 12 months from completion of the deal. So will the Point continue as 'the O2' for another year?

"Not necessarily," said Robert Finnegan, 3 Ireland's chief executive. "It's in our interest to get the 3 brand out there as prominently and as quickly as possible."
