Sister calls for fresh look at her brother's killing
THE sister of man shot in his home as he was set to ring in the new year has made a fresh appeal to solve his murder as its 10th anniversary draws near.
Sean Poland opened his front door in Blackwater, outside Limerick city, in 2002 at around 11.30pm, believing he would be greeting neighbours calling to wish him a happy new year.
But instead, the 39-year-old was confronted by a gang of robbers who shot him and left him to die in his hallway before tying up his partner and stealing money from their home.
In 'Crimecall' tomorrow night, his sister, Marie Horgan, is to make a renewed appeal for any information on the cold case murder of her brother.
