Sinn Fein councillor Micheal Mac Donncha elected new Lord Mayor of Dublin
Sinn Féin councillor Mícheál Mac Donncha has been elected Dublin's new Lord Mayor.
Cllr Mac Donncha was elected following a vote between Sinn Féin, Labour, the Green Party and independents.
He received a total of 35 votes to become the new Lord Mayor.
Fianna Fáil candidate Cllr Tom Brabazon received nine votes, while Fine Gael's Paddy McCartan received eight. Cllr Éilis Ryan (Workers Party) representing the Left Technical Group received five.
Cllr Mac Donncha said the housing crisis will be his top priority.
