Sing for Simon today with the Bray Gospel Choir and help raise funds

THE last session of Sing for Simon at Cafe on Seine, on Dawson Street in Dublin, is happening today from 4.15pm to 6pm.

The Bray Gospel Choir joins the Dublin Simon Community for carols and complimentary mulled wine with mince pies. Entry is free and all donations are welcome. All funds raised go directly to the Simon Community; see www.cafeenseine.ie

Dublin hosts the sound and the Furey

FINBAR Furey, the former front-man of The Fureys and a legend of Irish folk music, returns to Dublin on Thursday, January 17, 2013, performing at the National Concert Hall.

Furey will perform all of the songs that have made him a worldwide star, including Sweet Sixteen, The Green Fields of France, Her Father Didn't Like Me Anyway, The Old Man, Steal Away, The Lonesome Boatman, and many more. It promises to be a magical night of songs and stories. Details and tickets are available from the National Concert Hall.

Irish soprano leads 'Messiah' line-up

Stunning soprano Celine Byrne will lead an all-Irish line-up for two performances of Handel's Messiah at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre at 3pm and 8pm next Sunday, December 23.

Ring in the New Year at Christ Church

THE Christ Church Cathedral New Year's Eve Gala Concert with the Dublin Gospel Choir includes a post-concert champagne reception in the crypt followed by a countdown to the ringing of the bells at midnight on the cathedral grounds. Doors open at 8.30pm and the concert begins at 9pm.
