DART commuters can expect “significant delays” this morning after a truck hit a level crossing and caused damage to it this morning.
The truck hit the level crossing barrier at Serpentine Crossing at Sandymount at around 8.30am.
The level crossing barrier was badly damaged, a spokesperson for Iarnrod Eireann said.
Crews have repaired the barrier and services have resumed with delays expected to ease throughout the morning.

Iarnrod Eireann says Dublin Bus is accepting rail tickets.
A source told independent.ie: “The barrier was starting to come down and the truck sped up and went for it and damaged the barrier. The truck didn’t stop and it left the scene.”
“We got the registration and contacted the gardai. Not only did he not slow down, he sped up at some force and has caused road congestion in the area as well.”
“It’s stupid and reckless behaviour but there will be consequences.”
