It was one of the moments of this summer's All-Ireland Championship, but the inspirational supporter who comforted a fallen Waterford star has been doing this for years.
Last weekend, an amazing picture surfaced showing Kildare native Jennifer Malone (17) putting her arm around Pauric Mahony after his Waterford side fell short against Kilkenny.
Without a doubt, it is one of the most amazing moments from this summer's championship, but according to Jennifer's mother Donna, it happens every year.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio One this morning, Donna said: "“Jennifer’s thing is sport. Her speech is poor, but she has this way of connecting with people.
"In Kildare, she has been doing it for years. She is the first person (on the pitch) with the team whether they win or lose.”
Donna revealed that Jennifer is also an athlete, picking up a silver and bronze medal at the Special Olympics: Ireland Games earlier this year.
