Several minor collisions on country's roads as motorists warned of surface water

Motorists are warned of surface water on the country's roads this morning following a wet and miserable 24 hours.

Drivers are being advised to slow down and leave plenty of room for braking.

The warning comes after several minor collisions took place on Wednesday morning.

In Kildare, a collision took place on the N7 northbound and traffic is slow on on approach.

Surface water has been reported as a problem in the area.

There is also reports of a collision on the M50 northbound at the M1/M50 interchange.

AA Roadwatch have advised drivers to take care on approach.

Gardai also report surface water to be a problem on the N7/M7 Limerick/Dublin road.

The heavy rain this morning is set to clear eastwards to scattered showers with sunny spells.
