Sentencing put back for man in child-porn case

A MAN who pleaded guilty to possession of one of the largest collections of child pornography ever found in the State has been remanded in custody until February 22 for sentencing.

He was due to be sentenced at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court yesterday but the hearing was adjourned because a psychiatric report was not ready.

James Clarke (58), of Devlis Cottage, Ballyhaunis, Co Mayo, pleaded guilty to four counts of knowingly distributing child pornography and possession of child pornography.

The 135,555 images and videos found on Clarke's computer included severe child sex abuse involving bondage, cruelty and bestiality.
