Senior staff at RTE set for performance-related pay rises
Senior staff at RTE are set for salary top-ups of at least €1,000 a year.
The performance-related pay rise system will come into effect from next year and will replace the current incremental pay system, Irish Times reports.
The new agreement will apply to managers who have not yet reached the top of their salary scale.
The bonuses will be awarded on a sliding scale to staff at the national broadcaster who pass performance-related targets.
This is approximately 230 people, according to the paper.
A similar scheme at Irish Water was described as a bonus culture by critics as the controversy over the utility mounted last year.
The company responded to the criticism by refusing to pay the performance-related awards for 2013 and 2014 and also refusing to reinstate the increments.
They now plan to reinstate the performance-related pay structure after recent criticism from the Labour Relations Commission
