Second fisherman dies following accident on board trawler

A SECOND fisherman has died following an accident on board of a trawler in Co Donegal on Monday.

The Filipino victim, who was in his 40s, passed away at Letterkenny General Hospital today.

James Joyce, 27, from Inis Mór on the Arann Islands, died on Monday night.

Both men were overcome with fumes on board their vessel as it was docked in Killybegs on Monday afternoon.

Gardai and the Health and Safety Authority are conducting investigations into the incident.

Mr Joyce's remains were taken to Inis Mór by the RNLI lifeboat yesterday for the wake at his home.

His funeral Mass took place this afternoon in Cill Rónán.
