A search is to resume today for a 19-year-old man, amid fears that he may have fallen into the sea.

Yesterday, Coast Guard units from Kilkee and Doolin and a rescue helicopter searched around the Spanish Point area, after the alarm was raised at around 11am.

Martony Vaughan, Kilkee Coast Guard Chief Officer, told RTE’s Morning Ireland today that naval divers will do an extensive search of the area today and a land search will also take place.

Conditions are said to be favourable.
