INDEPENDENT Presidential candidate Sean Gallagher promised today to bring his entrepreneurial background to the role of President.
He said he would lead trade missions abroad in an effort to secure jobs and business for Ireland.
"The greatest issue facing the country is unemployment and emigration," Mr Gallagher said on Morning Ireland and he believes with his experience he can bring vital jobs and tourism to Ireland.
Having finally received the four council nominations required to enter the race for the Aras Sean Gallagher described the election process as slow and difficult.
"You have to run a campaign in order to get into a campaign.”
In light of his nomination Mr Gallagher said that he would speak to the local councils who have not yet met but have pledged their support, and ask them to withdraw the motion as he does not want to block the access for any other Independent candidates who may be interested in running for the Presidency.
