Sea search to resume for lost fisherman
AN AIR and sea search for a missing man off the coast of Howth was called off late last night due to failing light.
It is understood two men had been in a fishing vessel between Balscadden Beach and the 'Nose of Howth' when one of the men fell overboard.
The search will resume at first light this morning.
The man is believed to be in his 40s.
A member of the public reported seeing someone in the water at around 5pm, a garda spokesman told the Irish Independent last night.
A search was launched by emergency services, including the Garda Air Support unit and the Dublin Coastguard helicopter. At least two coastguard vessels were deployed.
Local fishing boats also took part in the search but it was called off at around 8pm.
