Sculptures from snow bring a little girl's garden to life

Anne-Marie Walsh

THIS little girl's daddy gave the neighbours a run for their money when he helped her build a snowman.

Teddy Gramiak's creative talent came to the fore when he sculpted an elegant elephant and dolphin when Alexandra asked him to play in the snow.

The unemployed carpenter, originally from Poland, is very modest about the icy sculptures in his front garden in Woodlands Green, Arklow, Co Wicklow.

"I haven't done anything like it since I was about 10 or 11 years old in Poland," said Mr Gramiak, who has lived in Ireland for three years. "My daughter had nothing to do and said 'let's make some animals'.

"A lot of people have been here and taken photos, but it's not really that great," he laughed.
