A RUNAWAY dog, which was discovered on a DART train, is now looking for a one-way ticket home.
The canine adventurer (pictured) went on a journey of discovery after joining morning commuters on a train between Greystones and Malahide.
It is believed the brown terrier jumped on the train at some stage between 10am and midday. Irish Rail sent a 'Lost dog!' tweet with a photo attachment after it was spotted by stunned rail staff wandering the train's corridors at Malahide.
Staff said it quickly became evident the dog had no owner on board and some staff tweeted a picture of it. The terrier was wearing a collar when it was discovered but it had no contact details. Barry Kenny, from Irish Rail, said it was "in good shape and reacts well around people".
A rail worker agreed to take the dog home last night as the search for its owner continued.
