HER musical career has produced over 30 singles and 30 albums.

From Eurovision winner 'All Kinds Of Everything', to John Paul II tribute 'Totus Tuus', religious hymn 'Lady Of Knock', and 'It's Going to be A Cold Cold Christmas Without You'.

But fans of Dana Rosemary Scallon are to be deprived of her music on the national broadcaster until after polling in the presidential elections on October 27.

RTE confirmed to the Irish Independent that from last night, the music of Dana was off their playlist in their interest of fairness.

"RTE is obliged to deliver fair and balanced coverage at all times, including election periods. Once we reach the close of nominations, that applies to all our outputs. Therefore, to give any one candidate a boost by playing their music would seem an unwise situation," a station spokesman told the Irish Independent last night.

For the same reason, Ms Scallon was also forced to pull out of RTE's 'Celebrity Bainisteoir', in which she had been training St Michael's Lissan GAA Club in Derry.

Last Sunday, viewers saw her handing over her team to Majella O'Donnell, wife of popular Donegal singer Daniel O'Donnell.
