RTE names Morning Ireland man as new western correspondent

A reporter with RTE Radio's flagship news and current affairs show 'Morning Ireland' is to take over from retired correspondent Jim Fahy.

Pat McGrath (pictured), originally from Kells, Co Meath, has been appointed western correspondent after Mr Fahy -- RTE's longest-serving regional correspondent -- retired after 50 years.

Mr McGrath (37) moved to 'Morning Ireland' from 2FM in 2010, having begun his career with Clare FM.
