RTÉ announces new female presenter for children's current affairs show

RTÉ has announced its new team for their children's news show, 'news2day'.

Former Independent News and Media journalist,  Zainab Boladale, has joined the news team.

Zainab is from Ennis, Co Clare and studied journalism at Dublin City University (DCU).

She previously worked as a digital news journalist for Independent.ie.

Zainab was born in Lagos, Nigeria but has lived in Ennis Co Clare since she was four years old.

She joins current news2day presenter Tommy Meskil, also from Co Clare.

Tommy studied Communications Studies at Dublin City University (DCU), and interned with Clare FM during his studies. After completing his degree he worked as a newsreader with Spirit Radio, East Coast FM and then became a reporter at Dublin station FM104 before joining RTÉ News.

news2day is broadcast Monday-Friday at 4.20pm on RTÉ Two and RTÉ News Now.
