RSA will post a pretax profit of £235m (€333m) for the first half of 2015, according to a poll of analysts supplied by the company.
Swiss rival Zurich said it is weighing a possible bid for RSA, with speculation the price tag would be £5.5bn.
RSA returned to profit last year under former RBS boss Stephen Hester (left), after losses in 2013 driven by an accounting scandal at its Irish unit and bad weather.
