Route scrapping sparks protest
PROTESTeRS have threatened to mount a campaign of civil disobedience over the termination of a Dublin Bus route.
About 30 people occupied the company's headquarters on O'Connell Street for 30 minutes yesterday over the scrapping of the number 19 route, which is due to come into effect on August 28.
The route is being discontinued due to low passenger numbers.
Dublin Bus insists that users will be able to access the city centre using other nearby services, albeit at a reduced frequency.
