Roscommon now the Baghdad of treaty war

Published 23/05/2012 | 17:00

IT seems Roscommon has become something of a no-fly zone for Yes campaigners.

With feelings still raw over the closure of the county hospital's A&E department last year, the Roscommon Hospital Action Committee took out an ad in the local paper yesterday telling voters they had already been lied to by Fine Gael and Labour, and they shouldn't be trusted.

So, against such a backdrop, a local government representative yesterday said it was best to stay away from the area entirely, in case you don't come out alive.

Roscommon: the fiscal treaty equivalent of Baghdad.
