A ROMANIAN man is to be sentenced in February after two men from a repossession firm were assaulted and threatened with an agitated boar when they called to a pig farm to reclaim items, writes John Fallon.
Marin Danci (25), who lived on the farm at Elfeet, Newtowncashel, Co Longford and who now lives in Athlone, pleaded guilty to threatening to kill or harm the two repo men.
He also pleaded guilty at Longford Circuit Court to assaulting the two men, but reporting restrictions were applied as the owners of the pig farm, Donal and Margaret Connaughton, were on trial on similar charges and had pleaded not guilty. On Thursday, Margaret Connaughton (52) was found not guilty.
Her husband, Donal (54) was found guilty. He will be sentenced with Mr Danci, his former employee, on February 21.
