Roam with a view: baby giraffes stretch their legs

IT will be a very special Mother's Day tomorrow for two young Cork mums as they celebrate their babies' first week outdoors.

But Blaithin and Sapphire, two Rothschild giraffes at Fota Wildlife Park in Cork, won't be too worried about their babies in the chill March air as the 'toddlers', who were born in January, are already almost two metres tall.

Fota yesterday officially unveiled the two baby giraffes – as yet unnamed – which are expected to prove one of their major attractions for 2014.
