A MAN has been hospitalised following a violent attack which was carried out on a busy road during rush hour traffic.
Gardai are investigating an incident during which a man, believed to be aged in his 30s was assaulted on the Malahide Road, Coolock in Dublin shortly after 7pm yesterday evening.
The incident is understood to be connected to an ongoing feud between two families from the Traveller community.
A video of the incident posted online shows a man throwing four vicious blows to the victims head as he lies in a pool of his own blood on the road.
As the attack is carried out, the thug’s associates can be heard saying “give him a couple of hard kicks” before telling the injured man to “stand up” and “fight him”.
Cars passing the incident swerve to avoid the chaos as the attacker talks to the camera, taunting the victim’s family.
“See all the (victim’s family), you’re all going out of Dublin. That goes to the whole lot of you. England or Ireland I send it to everywhere, I don’t give two f***s about any of you. We’re back,” he tells the camera.
Garda from Coolock garda station are investigating the attack as a public order incident and are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
The victim was transferred to Connolly Hospital last night where he is being treated for head injuries. His wounds have been described as non-life threatening.
