NEGOTIATIONS are at an advanced stage for the sale of a five-star hotel on the Ring of Kerry, the second to change hands in recent weeks.
A UK-based luxury family hotel group is understood to be in the process of buying Sheen Falls Lodge in Kenmare for €5m. The sale includes the 66-bedroom hotel and a number of guest lodges but only a portion of its lands that extend to several hundred acres.
Staff at the hotel, owned by Danish shipping magnate Bent Hoyer, were informed of its imminent sale only recently.
News of the sale comes just weeks after the four-star Parknasilla Hotel resort outside Sneem changed hands for €10m. This was bought by Swiss-Lebanese financier Jacquie "Jacob" Safra.
