RIAM and TCD join forces for performing arts

THE Royal Irish Academy of Music (RIAM) and Trinity College Dublin have joined forces in a new performing arts education partnership.

Building on an existing relationship, RIAM has become an Associated College of Trinity with the aim of developing an International Centre of Excellence in the performing arts.

Trinity Provost Dr Patrick Prendergast said linking research to practice and focusing on the interface between innovation and tradition were key values shared by Trinity and the RIAM.

RIAM director Deborah Kelleher said she was confident they could develop a dynamic partnership "which will foster and nurture outstanding 21st Century musicians".
