Revenue officers have seized cannabis with an estimated street value of €150,000 at Dublin Port this morning.

More than 7.5kg of the drug was found in a parcel sent from Nigeria and addressed to a location in Dublin city centre. The herbal cannabis was discovered by Meg, the Revenue’s drugs detector dog following routine profiling.

Investigations are said to be ongoing, with a view to prosecuting the recipient of the cannabis.

Last week a man was arrested at Shannon Airport for possession of €22,000 worth of the same drug.
