BUILDING work on the first new homes of a regeneration project in one of the country's most deprived estates will be completed within a fortnight.
It is hoped that residents of 20 newly constructed apartments and 13 houses will receive their keys before the end of the month.
Work on the 33 properties began in 2011 and it had been initially hoped that they would have been completed by last November.
However, the finishing touches are finally being applied to the buildings in Moyross, Co Limerick – six years after the regeneration agency was set up to work in the suburb.
Brian Geaney, senior executive officer with the regeneration project, said the completion of the homes "is a really proud moment for everyone involved with the regeneration programme".
