Residents' fury over bus routes intensifies

ANGRY residents gathered outside civic offices last night to protest at changes to the country's most famous bus route.
The residents from Monkstown Farm and Stradbrook were objecting to the removal of the 46a bus, of 'Summer in Dublin' fame, from their area and to other cuts to the 4a and 746 bus services.
They assembled outside Dun Laoghaire Co Council offices where Dublin Bus representatives attended the council's transport area committee to discuss local bus services and the new citywide Dublin Bus network review.
The protest is the latest event in an on-going campaign by local residents aimed at forcing Dublin Bus to restore the route immortalised by Bagatelle's song.
