Rescue vehicle gets bark of approval
Dublin SPCA staff and volunteers -- and a few four-legged special guests -- were on hand yesterday to watch RTE broadcaster Pat Kenny launch the animal welfare charity's new emergency response vehicle.
The much-needed vehicle -- a Mitsubishi L200 -- will make a big difference to frontline staff as they respond to calls about animals in danger.
Every year, the Dublin SPCA receives 90,000 calls from concerned members of the public regarding cruelty, abuse and violence to animals. Each of these calls is investigated by staff at the Dublin SPCA's Mount Venus Road campus.
