Rescue underway after person reportedly spotted in Dublin's Liffey
Rescue attempts are underway after a person was reportedly spotted in the Liffey in Dublin.
The Coastguard helicopter had been hovering over the river on the capital's northside, close to the CHQ building, for some time this morning.
At around 10.15am today, Dublin Fire Brigade received a report that a man had fallen into the river Liffey. It is understood the incident occurred close to the IFSC.
Two units from Dublin Fire Brigade rushed to the scene, and they left the scene before midday. The helicopter has also since left the area.
An RNLI lifeboat continues to comb the area. The Dun Laoghaire RNLI inshore lifeboat has been on the scene since 11.07am, a spokesperson said.
