Reilly vows to hand over final findings to husband as soon as he gets them

HEALTH Minister Dr James Reilly has insisted he cannot provide a copy of the draft report into the death of Savita Halappanavar to her husband because he has not received it himself.

However, he has given a personal commitment to Praveen Halappanavar that he will be given a copy of the final report at the same time he gets it.

It came after Dr Reilly received a letter for Mr Halappanavar's solicitor demanding "immediate sight" of the draft copy.

Dr Reilly maintains he has not received any draft copy of the report – and that the last time he was briefed verbally on it was before Christmas, when he travelled to Athlone to update Mr Halappanavar.
