Q THE DAIL
The Government published a package of reforms during the campaign to make the Dail more relevant and beef up the role of Oireachtas committees.
These will kick in regardless of the outcome but aren't revolutionary. The Coalition is insisting the reform agenda continues, despite the Seanad setback.
Q THE SEANAD
The Seanad continues, but the prospect of reform is still up in the air. The Government is in no hurry to examine the issue.
Kicking the question to the Convention on the Constitution, setting up an all-party group to examine it and the Seanad itself debating it are all options.
But there's no consensus on options for reform and it is unclear if there will be any change before the next general election.
Q THE COURTS
The new Court of Appeal will now be established as a means to clear the backlog of civil appeal cases.
The court will set between the High Court and the Supreme Court.
The court will hear appeals of High Court rulings, allowing the Supreme Court to concentrate more on cases of greater significance.
