Rail passengers get free wi-fi

PASSENGERS will enjoy free wi-fi internet access on Iarnrod Eireann services between Dublin and Cork from next week.

The company said yesterday that the scheme would be extended to other services between Dublin, Waterford, Sligo and Galway before the end of the year. It was also in discussions with the National Transport Authority about providing free internet access on DART and commuter services in Dublin.

The contract to install the technology was won by Dublin firm FleetConnect.
