Raiders escape after cash-in-transit robbery this morning

GARDAI are investigating a cash-in-transit robbery that happened in Tallaght this morning.
The raid happened at the Cheeverstown Luas stop when a cash transaction was taking place at around 8am.
There were no reports of injuries in the robbery, and it is understood the raiders only escaped with a small amount of cash.
A car was found burned out nearby.
Gardai at Tallaght garda station are inspecting CCTV footage from the area, and are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, gardai are also investigating a post office robbery which occurred at the Mill Shopping Centre, Clondalkin yesterday at approximately 11am.
Two men armed with a firearm and a sledgehammer entered the Post Office and threatened staff and demanded money. The raiders left the scene in a waiting car. A similar car was found abandoned on St Patricks Road.
"It is believed that the raiders got into different cars," a garda spokesman said.
"Gardai later stopped a car and arrested two men aged 27 and 37 and they were taken to Clondalkin Garda station where they are being detained under the provisions of section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939 as amended."
A third men was also arrested and is being detained under the provisions of section 30 Offences Against the State Act 1939 at Ballyfermot Garda station.
There were no shots fired and no one injured during the robbery.
