THOUSANDS of people are being lined up for a 700km run in nine days aimed at helping boost the Irish language.
Rith 2012, as the race will be called, will start in Gweedore, Co Donegal, on March 8, and will end on St Patrick's Day in Inis Mor in the Aran Islands.
In the second race of its kind, relay runners will go through 75 towns across 15 counties with a baton containing a secret message.
The secret will only be revealed at the end of the competition when the last runner takes a ferry from the mainland to Inis Mor.
