Rabbitte and Cowen swap rapid-fire repartee

Biffo and Pat Rabbitte toasted departed friends as they traded wise-cracks over the absence of any Greens in the Dail chamber.

Pat wondered if the Greens walked out "when the Taoiseach stuffed them" with the banking inquiry.

Cowen responded, asking where the Workers' Party was -- a reference to Rabbitte's former political home. And he referred to a recent book called The Lost Revolution: The Story of the Official IRA and the Workers' Party.

"Did the Deputy buy up all The Quiet Revolution books?" he called out to Mr Rabbitte. Cowen was hoping to read it over Christmas: "I went to a book store twice and I couldn't get a copy of it."
