ALMOST one in four employees is secretly searching for a new job online while at work.
A survey of over 500 employees by Amarach Research reveals that many other disloyal work practices are thriving in Irish offices.
A total of 23pc of the workers surveyed said they looked for other jobs at work, while 35pc of staff admitted using social media.
Most of the under-24s admitted using social media like Facebook and Twitter at work, but just 14pc of the over-45s did.
"The results . . . do not show Irish employees as the most dependable," said Urban Schrott, IT Security and Cybercrime Analyst with employee- monitoring software company, Safetica, which commissioned the survey.
