SHE's going to be a really hard act to follow.
President Mary McAleese is doing a good job according to a staggering nine out of 10 people, the Irish Independent/Millward Brown Lansdowne opinion poll reveals.
But a clear majority feel two terms is enough for any President to serve, the poll shows.
The astonishing satisfaction rating of 92pc for Mrs McAleese is higher than that of any Taoiseach, minister or party leader on record.
Only 6pc of the public are not satisfied with the President's performance and 2pc don't have an opinion.
Entering her final six months as Head of State, Mrs McAleese is riding the crest of a wave of popularity.
The President was widely praised for the manner in which she presided over Queen Elizabeth's visit.
At the moment, the Constitution prevents a President from serving more than two terms.
Despite Mrs McAleese's popularity, only a third of voters want to see the Constitution changed to allow a President serve more than two terms.
But a clear majority of 60pc believe the Constitution should not be changed and are happy to stick with the two term limit.
The view the Constitution should not be changed is higher among 18-24 year olds, working class people, men and those from a farming background.
Among those who want a Constitutional change are 25-34 year olds, women, the wealthier classes and Sinn Fein.
