Protester arrested after angrily confronting Taoiseach during by-election canvass

GARDAÍ had to intervene when Taoiseach Enda Kenny was confronted by an angry protester while out canvassing ahead of the Kilkenny-Carlow by-election.
The incident occurred at the Fairgreen shopping centre in Carlow town around 4.30pm Ross afternoon.
A source said Mr Kenny was leaving the shopping centre and about to get in to his car when the man approached him and tried to confront of him.
Gardai intervened and he was later arrested after shouting abuse at the guards for a few minutes, the source told Independent.ie.
